Ron Yary was a consensus All-America offensive tackle as a junior in 1966 and a unanimous All-America choice in 1967, his senior year. In 1967, he was the first Trojans’ player to win the Outland Trophy as the nation’s top collegiate lineman.

Yary played in two Rose Bowl Games, including the 1968 game, when nationalchampion USC beat Indiana 14–3. During Yary’s three seasons, the Trojans compiled a record of 24–7–1.

Yary had an illustrious 15-year NFL career, 14 of which were spent with the Minnesota Vikings. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame, and is enshrined in the Vikings’ Ring of Honor.
