One of the greatest running backs of all-time, Orenthal James “O.J.” Simpson led the University of Southern California to a 19–2–1 record during his two-year college career, including appearances in the 1968 and 1969 Rose Bowl Games.
In the 1968 game, Simpson led USC past Indiana 14–3, earning Player of the Game honors by rushing for 128 yards on 25 carries, and scoring the game’s only two touchdowns. He ran for 171 yards and a touchdown and caught 8 passes for 85 yards against Ohio State in the 1969 game, but the Buckeyes won 27–16.
Simpson played in the NFL for 11 years, including nine seasons with the Buffalo Bills and two with the San Francisco 49ers. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
