Even blindness in one eye wasn’t enough to stop Bob Schloredt from becoming the first player in Rose Bowl Game history to win two Player of the Game honors. Schloredt quarterbacked his Washington Huskies to an upset win over the favored Wisconsin Badgers in the 1960 Rose Bowl Game, throwing a touchdown pass and running for another score in a 44–8 rout. In 1961, Washington again was an underdog, this time to the No. 1 MinnesotaGophers. But Schloredt passed and ran for touchdowns as the Huskies jumped out to a 17–0 and went on to win 17–7.

Schloredt played in the Canadian Football League for two seasons, then went back to Washington as an assistant coach. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989.
