A tight end turned running back, Morrison led Ohio State to a 17–14 victory over California in the 1950 Rose Bowl Game. Morrison rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown in the Buckeyes first-ever Rose Bowl Game victory and was named Player of the Game. During Morrison’s final two seasons, Ohio State posted a record of 13–4–2, including a 7–1–2 record in the Buckeyes’ Big Ten championship season in 1949.

Following graduation in 1950, Morrison went on to play for the Chicago Bears. He was the general manager of the Southern California Sun of the World Football League, and chief operating officer and general manager for the Los Angeles Express of the USFL.
