Leroy Keyes was an outstanding running back and defensive back for Purdue from 1966 to 1968. During his sophomore year, Purdue finished the season 8–2 and earned a berth to the 1967 Rose Bowl Game.

Keyes is the Boilermakers’ career leader with an average of 5.88 yards per rushing attempt. He held the career rushing touchdowns mark with 29 before Mike Alstott bettered the mark in 1995.

Keyes played five seasons in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1990. He passed away in 2021.
