1992 Inductee
Frankie Albert led Stanford to an undefeated season, the Pacific Coast Conference crown, and a 1941 Rose Bowl Game win by defeating Nebraska 21–13. His accurate left-handed passes, intricate football handling and faking abilities made him the first of Stanford’s All-America quarterbacks.
Known as the “Spirit of Stanford,” Albert became the first college T-formation quarterback, and later helped make the “T” the prominent formation in professional football during his 30-year relationship with the San Francisco 49ers. Albert died in 2002.
