Each week throughout the 2023-24 college football season, the Rose Bowl Game will select a "Team of the Week". The Team of the Week is voted on by a panel at the Tournament of Roses/Rose Bowl Game.
Â
The Week Two Team of the Week is the
Texas Longhorns!
Â
The Longhorns made a national statement with a 34-24 win over Alabama. The Texas victory broke Alabama's 21-game home winning streak and the Crimson Tide's 43-game winning streak against non-conference foes at home.
Â
The victory, spurred by an outstanding performance by sophomore quarterback Quinn Ewers (24 of 34, 349 yards, 3 touchdowns), propelled Texas to #4 in the AP Top-25. Ewers, who was injured in the matchup between these two teams a year ago, was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.
Â
Texas, in its last season in the Big 12, will join the SEC starting in the 2024 season. The Longhorns will host Wyoming at Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 16.
