The Tournament of Roses® has selected Bri Nunley as its recipient of the 2025 Rose Bowl Game Keith Jackson Postgraduate Scholarship. Nunley (Arizona State University) will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship toward her postgraduate education in addition to receiving a unique and specialized work-study experience at the 2026 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential.
The scholarship recognizes its recipient for exceptional undergraduate achievement from a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) university who plans to also pursue a career in the sports industry. The application process was open to senior-level undergraduate students who submitted a personal essay and academic records along with the other application materials. This is the sixth year that the scholarship has been awarded.
Nunley is a senior marketing major at Arizona State University who will graduate in May of 2026. She is member of the women's soccer team and serves as president of both the ASU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the EmpowHER organization. Bri is also an active member of the Tip of the Fork Leadership Development Program which aims to develop Sun Devil student athletes into transformative leaders. She is also a standout student, having been named to the ASU Dean's List and the Big 12 Conference All-Academic Team. Following her graduation, Bri plans to pursue a dual degree in Law and a master's degree in Sports Law and Business at ASU where she aims to become a leader who will advocate for athletes' rights, strengthen representation, and help shape the future of the sports industry.
"Bri's accomplishments as a standout student-athlete at ASU are extraordinary and we are thrilled to honor her as this year's recipient of the Rose Bowl Game Keith Jackson Scholarship," said Mark Leavens, 2026 President of the Tournament of Roses. "The Pasadena Tournament of Roses appreciates and applauds Bri's commitment to become a leader in the sports industry and we know she will accomplish great things. We look forward to hosting her in Pasadena on New Year's Day."
The scholarship is named on behalf of Keith Jackson, who was the voice of college football for several generations. Jackson was a man of many catchphrases, including "Whoa, Nellie" and "Big Uglies", but was also credited with popularizing the Rose Bowl Game's nickname as "The Granddaddy of Them All". He was on the call for the Rose Bowl Game on 15 occasions, among the most by any broadcaster, from 1989 to 2006. His final game in the broadcast booth was the 2006 BCS National Championship at the Rose Bowl Game.
The Keith Jackson Postgraduate Scholarship is funded by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses. For more information, including details on eligibility and how to apply, please visitÂ
