Indiana to play in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential

The Hoosiers will face the winner of the first-round CFP game between Oklahoma and Alabama

The No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers, champions of the Big Ten Conference, will play in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET, on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the Rose Bowl Stadium. This year's Rose Bowl Game will be Indiana's second appearance in The Granddaddy of Them All.

Indiana will face the winner of the College Football Playoff's first-round game between Oklahoma and Alabama in Norman, Okla., on December 19 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Indiana won the Big Ten Championship for the first time since 1967 by defeating Ohio State, 13-10. The Hoosiers started the season ranked No. 20 in the polls but slowly climbed up to No. 2 by week nine. After winning the Big Ten title, Indiana is the only undefeated team in the Football Bowl Subdivision and enters the postseason as the No. 1 overall seed. The Hoosiers are making their second appearance in the Rose Bowl Game with an 0-1 record. Indiana has an all-time bowl record of 3-10.

"We are excited to host the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl Game," said Pasadena Tournament of Roses President Mark Leavens. "We look forward to welcoming Indiana to Pasadena on New Year's Day and are thrilled to have the top team in college football compete in The Granddaddy of Them All."

The first-round playoff game between Oklahoma and Alabama will be the ninth meeting of the two programs in their history. Oklahoma leads the series 5-2-1, and has won the last two meetings, including a 23-21 win this year.

Indiana has faced Oklahoma once in its history, winning the game in 1928, 10-7. The Hoosiers have never played against Alabama.

Pre-game festivities on January 1 will begin at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. ET). The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
