The No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers, champions of the Big Ten Conference, will face the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET, on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
  
Indiana won the Big Ten Championship for the first time since 1967 by defeating Ohio State, 13-10. The Hoosiers started the season ranked No. 20 in the polls but slowly climbed up to No. 2 by week nine. After winning the Big Ten title, Indiana is the only undefeated team in the Football Bowl Subdivision and enters the postseason as the No. 1 overall seed. The Hoosiers are making their second appearance in the Rose Bowl Game with an 0-1 record. Indiana has an all-time bowl record of 3-10. 
 
Alabama defeated Oklahoma, 34-24, in the first round of the CFP Playoff to earn a berth to The Granddaddy of Them All. The Crimson Tide finished the regular season with a 10-3 record. This will be their ninth appearance in the Rose Bowl Game with a record of 5-2-1. Alabama's all-time bowl record is 42-27-3.
