PASADENA, Calif. – The No. 8 Utah, champions of the Pac-12 Conference, and the No. 11 Penn State, will face each other in the 109th Rose Bowl Game at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET, on Monday, January 2, 2023, at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
 
This year's Rose Bowl Game will be Utah's second appearance in the Rose Bowl Game while Penn State will make its fifth trip to Pasadena for The Granddaddy of Them All.
 
This year's Rose Bowl Game will be the first meeting of Utah and Penn State.

Utah won its second consecutive Pac-12 Championship with a 47-24 victory over USC on Friday. The Utes finished with a 7-2 record in conference play and is 10-3 overall. Utah played in its first Rose Bowl Game last season against Ohio State and is 2-1 in New Year's Six Bowls. Utah is 17-7 in all bowl games.
 
Penn State finished the season ranked No. 11 in the College Football Playoff rankings and third in the Big Ten East. The Nittany Lions had a 7-2 record in conference play and a 10-2 mark overall. Penn State has played in four Rose Bowl Games with a 1-3 record, most recently the 2017 edition of The Granddaddy of Them All against USC. Overall, Penn State is 30-19-2 in 51 bowl games.
  
Pre-game festivities on January 2 will begin at 1 p.m. PT (4 p.m. ET). The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
